Project title
- Exploring Arctic Transportation Corridors in the Euro-Barents Region
Aim and questions
This research and educational initiative aims to:
- Analyze the role of Arctic transportation corridors in economic development and regional connectivity through a joint research project proposal.
- Advance educational collaboration through Arctic Six, particularly through the redesign and expansion of the Sustainable High North Logistics course (ORG5015).
- Strengthen applied research in Arctic logistics, ensuring research outcomes contribute to both academic outputs (e.g., Arctic Shipping and Logistics) and policy discussions on Arctic infrastructure and sustainability.
Key Research Questions:
- How are Arctic transportation corridors evolving in response to climate change, economic demand, and policy interventions?
- What infrastructural, regulatory, and logistical challenges affect key Arctic industries (mining, tourism, manufacturing, food production)?
- How can Arctic Six universities collaborate to enhance Arctic transport research, teaching, and interdisciplinary knowledge-sharing?
