1. 18 September

   The twenty new Arctic Six Chairs started their 2026–2028 term in the beginning of September. Antonio Calò, Nurul Huda Mahmood, Alexandra Middleton and Stefan Prost are the new Chairs from the University of Oulu. Their goal is to find research-based solutions to the problems facing northern societies.

2. 14 August

   Three new Chairs in the university alliance The Arctic Six are from UiT. They want to promote more interdisciplinary Arctic research in Norway, Sweden and Finland on total defence, sustainable infrastructure and biodiversity.

3. 16 June

   How can we strengthen research on Antarctica? This question was at the centre of a panel discussion at the UArctic Congress, which was held in May in Tórshavn, in the Faroe Islands. Researchers from Norway, Sweden, Germany, Canada, Japan, Brazil, and Australia participated in the debate.
